GOFAST EASTBOURNE DOWNHILL RACE, 1. - 2. September 2007
*** PRESS RELEASE*** GOFAST EASTBOURNE DOWNHILL RACE

Eastbourne is set to play host to the world’s fastest and most dangerous sports and downhill racing spectacle - including Street Luge and Downhill Skateboarding - next month (Saturday 1 & Sunday 2nd September 2007) at the inaugural Go Fast Speed Days event.

Over 150 of the world’s fastest elite downhill athletes from countries as far afield as Scotland, Sweden and South Africa to California, Australia and Germany will converge on Beachy Head to compete for the IGSA* World Cup Championship title. Reaching speeds in excess of 80mph, the reigning world champion Swiss street luger, Beni Weber will be defending his title from the former two times British, World Champion Pete Elliot who will be coming out of retirement to steal a win from his Swiss rival on British soil for the first time.

The event will also play host to the first ever Soapbox title at World Championship level, which will see amateurs and Formula 1 teams from Lotus, Vauxhall and Honda F1 to name but a few compete to claim the 2007 title.

With an expected audience in the region of over 20,000, Beachy Head will provide a stunning backdrop for this exhilarating racing event. Entry is free and racing starts from 8am on both days, the qualifying heats run on Saturday 1st with head-to-head racing on Sunday. For more information, visit
